Health Risks

From the inhalation, ingestion and contact with organic and inorganic debris. Moisture laden atmosphere inside a duct can allow microbes to breed; leading to a host of serious medical problems including

  • Asthma
  • Allergies skin rashes
  • Fatigue
  • Tuberculosis
  • Legionnaires disease

The undetected decay of ingested small birds and mammals can present a particular micro-biological hazard.

Fire Risks

Accumulation of dust, debris and grease contribute to the risk of fire and the possibility of flash explosion, in particular on Laundry and Galley Extract Systems.

Process Risks

Cross contamination into the working space can seriously undermine the business process whether it is as sophisticated as an Operating Theatre or Semi-conductor Plant to Food Processing and Storage.

Similarly, the process may be the source of contamination; as is in the case of kitchen extracts or Local Exhaust Ventilation systems.
